Fall 2008
Osyio,

The mornings are cool and the days are starting to feel shorter...Fall is in the air. The corn is all picked and the pumpkins and squash are coming in. I love how the Earth Mother quietly winds herself down getting ready for her long winter sleep.

I was unable to make the Fall Gathering in Ohio this year, but I always make plans to attend and something always comes up. Hopefully, I can make the trip next year. I haven't heard from anybody as to how it turned out. But thankfully, I was not in the hospital this year!

We are currently busy with all the plans for the Auburn University Native American Festival here in Alabama. This years Festival will be October 31 and November 1. This is the time of Nvwoti Equa or Big Medicine Festival, the time of the Cherokee New Year. Cherokee tradition has it that the world was created at this time of the year.

Ten days or so after the Big Medicine Festival, corresponding with the Full Moon, is Atohuna, or the Making Friends Ceremony. This is the time of year to lay down your anger and resentments. Time to make amends with whomever you have been angry with. Do not take this anger and resentment with you into the new year.

This Fall will be a busy time for all. Always remember to seek guidance from the Creator daily.

I see good things happening with the Free Cherokee, we are growing and learning together in love and harmony. It is good! AHO!

Love & Light,
RedArrow
